David Still is an artist and illustrator from Vaasa, Finland. After studying at the traditionally oriented Atelier Stockholm (now the Swedish Academy of Realist Art) and the more freely structured Fine Arts programme at Novia University of Applied Sciences, he graduated from the illustration programme at The Art Department. There, he studied under artists such as John English, Marshall Vandruff, and Jon Foster.
With a particular focus on book covers, David often uses the human body as a storytelling device, exploring the expressive possibilities of traditional techniques. Fantasy and science fiction art first inspired his interest in drawing and painting, and these visual worlds continue to play a central role in his artistic practice. At the same time, he draws inspiration from other art forms as well as from music, literature, and nature.
